Welcome To Sports
Sports and fitness activities are open to all students at Monoux College whether you want to play, participate, compete or keep fit. For the more committed players there are opportunities to trial and get selected for one of our Focus Sport Programmes.
We aim to provide high quality sport and physical activity opportunities for individuals and teams, from recreational level through to high level competitive opportunities.
We provide fully qualified sports coaches, activators and instructors for all of our sport and physical activities.

Participation
Sports Participation
The sports hall, gym and other sports and recreational facilities at the college are open to all students, with an extensive programme of sports activities for every student to access throughout the week.
Sports open to all students before college, during lunchtime and after college include but are not limited to:

Competition
Sports Competition
The college competes in a variety of Leagues, Cups & Tournaments.
The college is an official member of AoC Sport (Association of Colleges Sport) and competes in the official College Leagues, Cups & Tournaments.
The college is also affiliated to the ECFA (Essex County Football Association) and the WFSSA (Waltham Forest School Sports Association), competing in numerous other leagues, cups and festivals in a variety of sports.
There is also an extensive programme of intra-college (internal) competitions in a wide range of sports which all students are able to access.

Basketball Programme
Basketball Programme
Monoux College offers talented 16-19-year olds a comprehensive Basketball programme including the opportunity to play high level competitive Basketball alongside your studies. Monoux compete in a range of Basketball leagues, cups and competitions.
- Weekly training Sessions with England Basketball qualified coaches.
- Develop your skills, plays and fitness whilst gaining information and advice about training, health and lifestyle.
- Access to excellent training and playing facilities along with superb training equipment and state of the art fitness equipment.
- 1-to-1, small group and team sessions focusing on technical, tactical, physical and psychological aspects of the game.
- Compete in the AoC Sport London College Basketball League & Local Leagues.
- Compete in the AoC Sport Cup Competitions & Regional Tournaments.
- Receive support in progressing into club basketball and further development, representative and high-level Basketball opportunities within London and Essex.
- Have the opportunity to gain coaching and officiating qualifications.
Students can apply to study ANY course in ANY subject at BTEC Level 2, BTEC Level 3 or A-Level and gain access the Monoux Basketball Programme.

Cricket Programme
Cricket Programme
Monoux College, an Essex Cricket Inspirational College, offers talented 16-19-year olds a comprehensive programme of year-round cricket activities including the opportunity to play high level competitive cricket alongside your studies. Monoux compete in a range of indoor and outdoor leagues, cups and competitions.
- Weekly training sessions with Fully Qualified Essex Cricket Coaches
- Develop your skills, technique and fitness through our comprehensive cricket training programme.
- Access to excellent training and playing facilities along with superb training equipment including bowling machine, state of the art fitness equipment & video analysis.
- 1-to-1, small group and team sessions focusing on the technical, tactical, physical and psychological aspects of the game.
- Compete in Indoor College Cricket Leagues and Regional Tournaments.
- Compete in the Outdoor Cricket Leagues and Cup Competitions
- Receive support in progressing into club cricket and further development, representative and high-level cricket opportunities within Essex.
- Have the opportunity to gain coaching, umpiring or activators qualifications.
- Receive support in incorporating your passion for cricket into curriculum projects.

- Compete in AoC Sport, Essex FA and other Cup Competitions & Regional Tournaments.
- Receive support in progressing into club Football and further development, representative and high-level Football opportunities within London and Essex.
- Have the opportunity to gain coaching and officiating qualifications.

Monoux Sports Gym
Monoux Sports Gym
The Gym at Monoux College is an outstanding fitness facility with a large range of equipment ranging from cardiovascular and resistance machines, to free weights and specialist weightlifting equipment.
Fitness Instructors are available during opening times to provide advice and assistance with inductions, fitness programmes and operating fitness equipment.
Gym membership is free and accessible to all students and available to use throughout the day.
